Bad bloggers

So we suck a little. Sorry to have been radio silent, but things have been really busy. Here are the highlights.

We've had a lot of visitors, our friends the Hagedorns, the Johnsons and a few others in the mix. But one guest was here so long she moved over into the resident category--our niece Alex. She stayed a month, leaving last week to head back to WV to start high school. But we managed to get a little fun in before she left.

And together we enjoyed a day sailing in the San Juans with some great friends.


And though the rain has already started, we're not giving up on summer yet! We've got the Ekbundit clan coming next week, and then a little trip to Portland planned. Stay tuned if you're still there!

POTTY UPDATE: Evie June's still going strong with the pee, and still on a learning curve with the . . . other thing.

Success!

We've had a lot of excitement lately. Shakespeare in the park (in Burlington, no less!), where Evie June was transfixed by the Midsummer Night's Dream for about eleven seconds before shifting her focus to the moth that landed on our blanket. A few nice bike rides, some cool yard sale finds, and a trip to the airport to pick up Alex, our niece from WV who's visiting for a month. But the most exciting thing by far is this.

That's right! We're (mostly) potty trained. Evie's been wearing big girl underwear for a week solid. She's still wearing pullups at nighttime and bedtime, but she's got a firm grasp of what it means to "hold it." Of course, the fact that pee is currency she can exchange for an M&M helps considerably.
