Oregon Road Trip

We enjoyed our time away at Cannon Beach drinking in the scenery, eating great food, reading, playing and most of all resting. One of the bonuses of sharing a studio room with a toddler is that it forces everyone to rest at nap time. This meant that Jimmy and I got to catch up on our sleep a bit. Oddly, Evie June slept a bit less than usual. We could often hear her chanting quietly "wake up go to beach again" in her portable bed when we thought she was sleeping. But at the risk of putting you, dear reader, to sleep with talk of sleep, here are some photos of all the action.

And here's a hastily cut together video showing Evie June's favorite beach activities: sand throwing (and yeah, that's the new digital camera she chucks it into in the first segment. Its grinding a bit, but still snappin'), tide running, and wading. Good times.

Random placeholder blog

We're heading to Cannon Beach this weekend, so to avoid having back to back beach posts (and to avoid forcing unfair comparisons between WA and OR beaches) here are a few random photos to cleanse the palate.

Evie June in her new favorite backyard hangout--beneath the bough of a tree I'll never be able to name on the kid bench my dear friend Angie gave me for my birthday.

Evie plays saboteur during a croquet match at our friend's the Vendeland's last week. She really does sort of have red hair, huh?

Playing through . . .

And she gets acquainted with Ruthie and Kendie. Evie June does seem to like dogs as long as they don't bark too loudly in her ear.

And just to keep alive the age old question, "What does Jimmy do all day?", here's a photo of the house he's been building. The concrete has since been poured, so all will be done in a couple of weeks.

Now go outside and play.
