Baby Talk
As Evie June approached the two month mark this week, she's rapidly adding to her repetoire of abilities. She's discovered her hands and now enjoys staring at them, putting them in her mouth, and grabbing things (mainly my hair). The day she can put the pacifier back in her mouth independently is the day we look forward to. She's figured out that if she slams her arms and legs down in the tub, the water splashes up on the walls. This she likes. She's been sleeping for longer stretches--a couple of 8 hour nights have us hopeful for what's to come. She's sporting a discernable hairline, but as yet no real hair to speak of besides her little mullet tuft in the back. And she's holding her head up with (almost) complete control. She still has her bobblehead moments, but that little neck is getting stronger, or the extra chins are just providing stability.
And she's talking! Well, vocalizing at least in ways that differ from crying. Coos, laughs, grunts, mews, growls, have all entered her vocabulary. Click on the image below for a very special message from the girl herself. Make sure you're speakers are turned up.
Now, my baby speak is about as fluent as my Hindi, so her words are certainly open to interpretation. Translation, anyone?

Where is the video? The screen is white where the picture is supposed to be. I even have macromedia flash player 8 installed. Where....is....Evie?

I think it might not work on a dial up connection. Anybody else get it to work?

Aunt M thinks she was saying how much she loved and missed all her grandparents, aunts & uncles and cousins. But I have Sawyer on the case with his new secret decoder you sent him for his birthday. (Which by the way he says thanks!)
It did work, even with my lousy 28.8Kbps. What a joy to see AND hear her this morning.
Thanks for that blog mommy & daddy ~ you did good. Kiss her and tell her how much we love and miss her. We love and miss the both of you too.
Thanks for the message Eve.

"Get that camera out of my face. I've been a princess for two months, and already those paparazzi are stepping into my private moments. I'm not even out of my pajamas yet, and I haven't done a thing with my hair... and won't be able to for months yet." She's adorable, Jimmy. Great video. I have dial-up, btw, and it worked fine. Have momma june refresh the picture once or twice.

Apparently she is telling some really funny joke in babytalk, because Henry started bouncing up and down and smiling and laughing when we played the video (both times). Just what you two need -- another comedian in the family!

I've watched this over 10 times now ~ I think she is trying to tell me something :)

Love you guys,
