Tulips

I've lived in places with festivals devoted to lights, pumpkins and barbecue, but the annual event here in the Skagit Valley is the tulip festival. It certainly draws fewer beer-swilling, mullet sporting types than my hometown shindigs, but the Bradbury clan managed to have some fun Monday evening all the same.

As always, she's pretty in pink . . .

Our little blossom . . .

Enjoying a snuggle with MeeMee and Poppy before they fly back to WV.

Two lips and a tulip.

There are acres of tulips laid out like colorful patchwork just west of town, and we drove by many of them. Though Evie June couldn't actually see out the window, we could tell she was impressed.

PS: The poncho and matching pants she's wearing in the photos? Those belonged to her DADDY! Though everytime I pointed out how sweet our little girl looked in her vintage duds, Jimmy was quick to mention that he'd had no say in the selection of the outfit 32 years ago. Seems fringe and pompoms are a threat to masculinity everywhere . . .

She is so precious! I love the pink hat!

Derry was quick to correct your spelling of 'pompoms'... he says they are actually 'pompons'.

Yeah, pretty annoying, huh?

Oh my, what a sweetie! It is amazing how much better the tulips look when Evie is in the picture.

Of course Evie is always the one to take the show!!!!!

Poppy says the last picture is a classic. We will have to see about framing that one for him.

Love you and miss you all like crazy!!!!!!!

I'll have to agree with dad, I love the last pix. I saved & printed it to show her off! Oh how I wish I was there to hold her and read her a story. I miss all three of you. Kiss her on the back of the neck from Aunt M and tell her I love her.

Hope to talk to you soon.

Love ~ Monica
