Full of Firsts
Life gets busy and messy sometimes. After celebrating Evie's 4th birthday, we were visited by 3 or 4 different viruses and they hung around for about a month between Jen, Evie and Arun. Thankfully they finally left before we flew to West Virginia to visit family and for Jen to visit some area high school's that were reading her book as part of a book festival.
Needless to say, there were a lot of firsts for Arun to experience as well as a first for much of my family to meet him. It was a great visit and a perfect time of year to see countryside waking up from winter. Here are just a few shots of our time there.
PopPop decided the porch would be safer than the 30 foot tree limb for Arun's swing. At least this time.

Aunt Monica is giving Arun his first state-side haircut while he chats with his financial advisor. "What do you mean Gerber stocks are down?!"

Ah, April in your underwear! She wouldn't have tried this in Washington state...brrrr.

Our boy just could not get enough WV well water through a garden hose. Delicious!

Meemee with her grandbabies. Sawyer, Evie, Arun and Alex.

Arun and Evie hanging out with Nana on the couch.

Uncle Paul and Sawyer go over the basics of baseball while I think Arun was demonstrating a cricket maneuver.

Jen and Evie blowing bubbles at the science exibit in the amazing Clay Center in Charleston, WV.

PopPop getting schooled again by Arun in the shell game. That boy can focus on a cheerio...

Evie, sporting a homemade Frog and Toad shirt, cheesing with her Aunt Monica.

Me showing Arun the only way I can ever achieve anything close to a vertical leap. I'd laugh too son.

"C'mon Meemee, how else is I s'possed to become a hillbilly if I can't do a little 4 wheelin?""

And finally, on our way home we got to go through our favorite underground airport tunnel in Detroit, MI. Evie finds it quite bearable.

It was so great visiting family and it was relatively easy traveling with our two wigglers for Arun's first visit to West Virginia. Stay tuned for the next blog about Arun's first ride on his tricycle.....Arun? Where'd you go buddy?...

Love the photos you all. The shell game one made me laugh, my dad used to do the same kind of thing. Hey will you be around during the summer we could come visit?
