"Hey Brother . . . "

So, we seem to be through the roughest of the rough transition period. Arun is sleeping through the night, napping well, and pretty crazy happy. He's learning like crazy--recently adding waving, winking, "all done," "banana," "ball," and a few other skills and words. He also likes matching things, putting himself in time out (seriously), and laying down a mean xylophone rhythm. He loves swimming (finds the pool water tasty), and can disassemble stuff faster than I can figure out where he is in the house.

And he loves, loves, loves his sister. The good news is that Evie June has done most of her adjusting, and generally seems pretty thrilled to have him around. A couple of weeks ago, she was brushing her teeth as Arun did his best to brush his alongside her, Evie said, "He's the perfect little brother for our family." The fact that this followed a couple of early weeks of knocking him down made it all the sweeter.

Yeah, there's not a lot to say about his mad napkin dumping skills. That's his "all done" face and gesture, by the way.

They both love the bath time!

An unseasonably nice day led us outside for a swingset try out. EJ tried to teach him how to pump and glide.

He likes it.

We've snuck a few walks in as well. We've been taking her baby for a walk for months, so I think I was glad to finally have something to provide besides baby's sound effects as EJ rolled her over storm drains and hung her off the cliff of someone's driveway.

Most of all, Evie June is continuing her proud tradition of making up random stories and games. Witness this one below. We're a little worried that one of the players has to be naked, but she makes the rules . . .

He smiles! They play! from Jennifer Bradbury on Vimeo.

And in her quest to find more stuff to teach him, Evie June started preschool!

In the car on the way to her first day. She was a little excited.

Switching her name to show she's present at school.

Right now, they're tickling each other and cackling on the floor. It could all end in tears in a moment, but right now, they're pretty happy to have each other. And so are we.

Oh, what a wonderful post to read and see! I am so happy that things are getting into a comfortable rhythm.

And really, what could be better than an Arrested Development reference in the post title?!

Hugs to everyone,
Amanda M.
