Ekbundit Invasion!

We capped off a summer of visitors with some very special guests--the Ekbundit family. Jodi and I were roommates in college for the three years before Jimmy and I got married, and she and Terry have been really important friends. And the fact that they now live in my hometown means we get to see them when we visit my family. But having them here in our house for a whole week was just bliss. The Ekbundits--including Isabelle (4 and a half) and Carpenter (not quite two but already dwarfing Evie June) are the kind of people that are just so easy and fun to be around. We had a week of long talks, laughter and sharing ideas about life and parenting and simply how to live. There was also amazing peanut butter pumpkin oatmeal and some yummy Indian food. There were nights camping and days hiking or spent at the beach, some thrift shopping and lounging around.

Jodi said more than once when shooting a picture of a mountain or the water that the photos just don't do justice to the real thing. And that's true of the pictures below as well. But trust me--it was a pretty amazing week.

How awesome to see these great pictures of the Ekbundit crew! (Hi Jodi!) Everyone looks so great, and it looks like a fantastic week. My favorite thing about this post, though?

All that red hair! Wow!
