Big Time
We hit one of those milestones recently where we were forced to admit how much Evie June is growing up. She's now tall enough that if she stretches out on her tummy, her toes and fingertips almost reached the end of the crib. And based on her climbing prowess on various other objects, we're relatively certain that she could climb out by herself. We're very lucky she hasn't tried yet.
But rather than wait for the inevitable (and risk an injury, we took the plunge and got her a big girl bed. I think we were more apprehensive than she was. I anticipated lots of getting up, Evie abbreviating her naps, and rough adjustments. But Evie June was clearly more ready than we realized.
Dad could barely keep up with her as she helped with the assembly.
And here they are in action.

After a very brief rough moment and a quick reassuring snuggle complete with Evie's favorite song ("God Helps Evie"), she settled into her new bed and slept straight through til 7 am.
Its a big change for a big girl, but she woke up with a giant smile this morning (and even waited for us to come and get her out of bed). Let's hope that lasts a little longer . . .

Evie June, I am VERY proud of you and I really like your new "big girl bed". Is there enough room in there for MeeMee to snuggle with you?
