Team Evie

Sorry we've been away for so long. I've been sort of immersed in the revision process for my book. As you can see, Evie June has been incredible helpful in this difficult period.

And we've been enjoying spring-like weather, though the sunshine has yet to commit. We're trying to indoctrinate Evie to a love of lawn care early. She already adores dirt, so if we can just convince her that pulling up weeds will result in more dirt for her to enjoy, then I think we'll be set.

But it hasn't been all work. Sunday afternoon, we headed to the park with our one dollar kite . . .

. . . where we proved that even Spiderman is no match for Evie.

And Evie's been busy walking while holding onto only one of our hands, doing unassisted squats, and climbing on everything. She loves climbing up and down the couch, and yesterday, I caught her using her walker as a stepladder to the doorknob.

Her constant companions in all these adventures are her friends Al, George and Howard. No, Evie hasn't joined a bowling league of middle-aged men. That's Curious George, Al the Giraffe, and Howard the Duck. Most of you remember Al from a post last May. Howard is her favorite walking buddy, and George is her most recent love. One of these three is with her constantly. Sometimes, all four get together for some four-wheelin'.

They're also handy for another walker-alternative.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Oh how well we remember those days when Alex & Sawyer were small enough to fit on our backs to mow......now we have a teenager and our 'baby' will turn 10 on Saturday........time flies by so fast!

Uncle Paul said that Evie can help him mow his yard anytime ~ but until then to keep up the good work she's doing in WA.

As usual, wonderful pictures! And thanks for another great video ~ makes 2600 miles seem not quite so far away.

Love you all,
~Monica

I can totallly picture Evie in a bowling league with her buddies! She'd be bowling the strikes with that incredible smile on her face and the (stuffed) guys would be cheering her on.

I had a dream about Evie last night. I offered to take care of her and then I left the house without her--oops! I promise I would be a better babysitter than my dream would have you believe. Hope I get the chance to prove it! love and miss you guys.
