Easter, baby!

First, we'd like to thank all of you for your eggcelent submissions to the caption contest from last week's blog. It was too hard to pick a winner, so all the entrants will receive free lifetime subscriptions to the Blog o' Bradbury. Well done.

Now on to new business. Evie June eggsperienced her second Easter today. Owing to the fact that last year she did little more than drool and look ridiculously cute in the wierd outfit we made her wear, Easter didn't rank high on her list. But this year she added a new skill to her repetoire: egg hunting.

To get her ready, Daddy spent a little time during the reading of the Easter story orienting our intrepid seeker to her objective: the plastic egg.

Once Evie was clear on her mission, we headed into the backyard of our good friends Jon and Carol, where they'd hidden 7 dozen treat filled eggs amid the flowers and shrubbery. As you can see, she saw right through the flowery camouflage.

Though all that lovely grass did prove a distraction in her mission.

Most of the time, Evie was able to sneak up on the eggs, despite her squeaker shoes and the regulation frilly Easter dress.

But this one sort of snuck up on her!

After her eggceptional treasure hunting endeavor, Evie recounts her eggciting eggsploits for her many fans. Enjoy!

Jimmy and Jen

PS: You should know that it was a team effort. While Evie found three eggs on her own, the other seven veterans helped her bag her limit of twelve. Thanks to Colton, Connor, Brooke, Levi, Peyton, Logan, and Gus!

What happened to real eggs?! Every child must experience eating a hard-boiled eggs that has blue dye coming through on the hard-boiled egg white.

Happy Easter to Evie June! And to Jen and Jimmy too, of course. How in the world did you avoid grass stains on that beautiful dress? Very impressive.
