Evie's Top Ten Favorite Things (for now)
10. Her stuffed giraffe, Al. Al lives in Evie's crib, so at bedtime and naptime, she wrestles with her for a little bit before snuggling down and hugging her neck. Or maybe its a cradle-lock. Or a sleeper hold. Whatever.
9. Holding the bottle all by herself. That's right, Evie's now solo on the feeding. If you can consider us hovering nearby with a burp cloth solo.
8. Hats. She loves wearing them. She loves pulling them off. She loves playing peekabo with them. She loves chewing them.

7. The telephone. Its not at all uncommon for a conversation to be interrupted by Evie reaching for the keypad, pressing buttons, or just generally squealing to try and join in. Only when we actually put the phone up for her to have a go, she just smiles at the other voice and breathes into the receiver in a way that makes me hang up on people late at night.
6. Her tongue.

5. Books. Evie loves reading, smacking the pages and chewing them if we'll let her. We do actually let her eat the newspaper. Is that wrong?
4. These jammies. Though she hasn't vocalized her preference for them officially, her joy at looking like (in my friend Cathy's words) a "really cuddly traffic cone" is obvious.

3. Backward crawling. We hope to be able to get more video up sometime, but for now, you'll have to content yourself with an imaginary picture of Evie's backward mobility. We're so proud.
2. Bath time. Evie's loving the water and doesn't mind it in her eyes or mouth at all. She's graduated to the big bathtub complete with a rubber ducky that eludes her splashing fingers every night. Someday . . .
1. Real food! She's become quite the lover of cereal, and now we've branched out into actual food. Here she has a close encounter with some mashed potatoes. Only she's totally cuter than Richard Dreyfuss. And maybe taller.

At least we think she likes potatoes . . .

What a great thing to wake up to this morning!
I'm so excited for her that she doesn't have to air taste things all the time.
Not being partial, but she is adorable in that hat! And why is it that they only make cute cuddly, feeted pj's for little ones? I want a pair!
Give her a kiss from Aunt M please.

Hey Evie,
Your food goes everywhere like Poppy's does when he eats ....and I know you loved those mashed potatoes as much as he does. Remember, Poppy always says "there is no such thing as a bad potato...some are just more tasty than others." And by the looks of you in the picture.... Mommy fixed the best ones!!!
I will be there in 17 days so don't get any cuter until I get there.
Love you,
