Giving Thanks
We interrupt the regularly scheduled Rajasthan updates to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. While we're definitely sad to not be with family and friends on this day (and missing coconut-pecan crusted sweet potato casserole), we managed to enjoy our holiday all the same. Our friends Tim and Becky invited us over for dinner. She'd made corn, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, salad, and PUMPKIN pie. We supplied the turkey . . . sandwiches.
It seems the only place in Chandigarh to buy turkey is at the Subway. Here I am carving up the bird, as it were. (No endorsement implied.)

Our hosts, Tim and Becky.

Who knew mashed potatoes could be so beautiful . . .

mmmmmmmmmm . . . . . .

We miss and love you all! Happy Holidays!
Jen

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you didn't eat to much. Got to save room for pie. I do miss you two but I'm happy I can read all your adventures on line.
God Bless,
Kevin

happy thanksgiving dear friends! I re-organized my organizer this morning and found your bolg address. Hey, it only took me 4 months. Jen, did the circle journal make it to you? I am thrilled to catch up on your adventure. The highlights for me were the malaria quote on the hospital wall and your mom's response to that post--hysterical! When I see your pictures and read your clever writing, I realize how much I miss you.

Giving thanks for Tim & Becky for sharing thier home & hospitality since we couldn't be there with you. We set your picture on our table so technically speaking, you did join us for dinner ;)
Very glad you got your pumpkin pie ~ I even heard you had turkey leftovers! Should we expect a leftover turkey idea blog soon?
Feeling very thankful and blessed we are family........ only 43 more days.
Love you guys,
Monica

Happy Thanksgiving Jimmy & Jen! Nice dinner you all had! Hope your Thanksgiving was very memorable-- I doubt you've celebrated one overseas before? Do Indians celebrate any specific days around this time of year? I am glad you were able to celebrate the day! We do have a lot to be thankful for.

Hahaha I just read the post from Nov 1... about threatening stool samples. How very nice! What a wonderful, um, cultural experience for you (hehe). I can laugh because I've had much of the same experiences in W. Africa and it brings back many lovely memories of bush life. Please understand I do empathize with you Jen, it's just that your style of writing makes me chuckle. I'm so glad Jimmy posted a picture of you fixing dinner, you look a lot better than in the hospital bed! So glad you were able to enjoy dinner. God bless you! Be well!

I was gonna ride to Go-Mart for an eggnog fix, when I remembered the broken rear derailleur (XTR $92) on my Hydraulic-disc-braked-oil dampened-suspension-triple-butted aircraft-aluminum door stop. Bonnie Tyler spoke true when she said "I need a Hero". ramble on.
